Education Committee

Our Education Committee supports community programs that promote learning, cultural connection, and engagement for children, youth, and families. We focus on creating accessible opportunities that strengthen cultural identity, respond to community needs, and support a connected Mongolian community in British Columbia.

Mongolian Language & Cultural Program (MLCP)

The Mongolian Language and Cultural Program (MLCP), also known as Mongol Ukhaan School, is a community-run program that supports Mongolian language learning, cultural identity, and connection for children, youth, and families in British Columbia. It provides a welcoming and consistent space where young people can learn, practice, and stay connected to their Mongolian heritage while growing up in Canada.

Our Programs

We offer weekly Mongolian language and cultural classes during the school year that help children develop reading, writing, speaking, and vocabulary skills in Mongolian while engaging with songs, poems, storytelling, cultural traditions, and interactive learning activities.

Our Community

We serve children and youth aged 3–18 and their families in British Columbia, including both Canada-born children and newcomers, providing opportunities to learn the Mongolian language, connect with their cultural heritage, and build community.

Our Impact

MLCP helps address the need for consistent Mongolian language and cultural learning in British Columbia, supporting children and youth in maintaining their language, identity, and community connections.

MLCP is delivered by Mongolian educators and supported by parents and volunteers. It is community-driven and built on shared effort, cultural knowledge, and active participation.

Dalaid Dusal Nemer

Dalaid Dusal Nemer is a community education series that provides practical information and support to help Mongolians in British Columbia navigate life in Canada. Originally created to support newcomers, it has expanded to serve the broader community through volunteer-led sessions on topics including housing, employment, health, nutrition, sports, and other everyday life skills. Sessions are delivered in a welcoming and accessible environment and are free or by donation to ensure they remain open to everyone in the community.
